Woman Condemned
Women who are abused suffer from different kinds of trauma. These trauma effects can have an impact to a woman’s behavior such as she may feel out of control, either emotionally numb or suddenly alert and panicky. Aside from this, she may not also realize that in some ways she is reacting to things that remind her of the abuse that she had experienced. A lot of people don’t know that these abuses can affect a woman’s life many years later.
Women cope up trauma with painful feelings in different ways. As a result, they may develop an eating disorder, misuse drugs or alcohol, or worse, they may even harm themselves. Behaviors such as these may help women cope for a while however this only triggers women to feel more isolated and depressed. More often, such actions can also increase anxiety and sleeping problems.
Certain abuse-related trauma can develop after a woman has been hurt or neglected. This usually occurs in her childhood. It’s either she has been sexually or physically abused or emotionally abused. Just so you know, emotional abuse may refer to any type of abuse that is not physical in nature. Moreover, it can include everything from verbal abuse to the silent treatment, domination up to subtle manipulation. As a result, these women may have overwhelming feelings of fear, distress and helplessness.
