Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone especially to women. Different kinds of violence and abuse are done to women may it be psychological, physical or emotional. Yet emotional abuse can be minimized, still it can leave lasting and deep scars. Abuse and domestic violence to women are used for the purpose of gaining and maintaining total control over them.

The first step to end domestic violence and abuse is through acknowledging its warning signs and symptoms. Remember that no one should love in fear for the person they love therefore if you seem to recognize yourself or someone you know suffers from domestic violence and abuse, don’t hesitate to reach out because there is help available.

An abuser does not use the concept of playing fair because they use fear, shame, guilt and intimidation in order to wear women down and keep them under their thumb. Abusers may also hurt you and those people around you. Worse, they may even threaten you just to get what they want.

In the first stages of a woman’s therapy towards abuse related trauma, she learns more effective and less harmful ways to deal with the overwhelming pain that she feels. This therapy allows a woman to cope with effects like flashbacks, panic and self-harm.
