Women who are Abused while in a Relationship

There are a lot of cases of battered women nowadays and this issue seems to increase as the years go by. For some, it would really be such a wonder why women stay in their relationship despite the abuse that they get from their husband. Others condemn women who allow their husbands to hurt them as martyrs. Basically, there are a lot of factors and reasons to consider why women choose to stay even though their lives are at stake.
One reason that holds women back is confusion. A woman may be confused if about her feelings towards him because of emotional up-and down strategy which keeps her off-balance and in a state of confusion.
Fear is another reason why women choose to stay. In some cases, women are said to have every reason to be afraid especially if he has threatened to take the children away from her once she leaves, and she knows that he will definitely do it. At times, he may lie in court and testify that she is not a good mother. If he does not get custody, he will kidnap the kids and her. In extreme cases, he will kill her and the children. It’s like if he can’t have her and the kids, then he will make sure that no one else will either. These cases happen and women experiencing such kind of problem should really get some help.
A woman may also feel fear the judgmental reactions of people who believe that she is responsible for breaking up the family once she decides to leave. She may also fear offending God because of the thought that it divorce is something that is immoral, and she is unaware that God also forbids violence, and has great compassion toward those people who suffer from abuse.
Women may also stay in an abusive relationship because they fear that being a single parent can be hard particularly when it comes to financial matters.
There’s no reason to underestimate the effects of violence and abuse to women. At the same time, we must also understand the reasons why women may not immediately leave an abusive relationship.
So you see, abuse and violence affects women from all kinds of backgrounds every day. At times, women are attacked by strangers however in most cases; they are hurt by people who are even close to them. In general, violence and abuse can cause terrible emotional and physical pain however, there is nothing to fear and you need not to be alone because you can get help.
